A few months ago, I was sitting with my mom. She was looking at her facebook and saw a post from her friend that said her uncle had passed away and they were selling off a bunch of his stuff. There was tons of awesome stuff posted, cars, freezers, golf clubs, all kinds of things, and all they wanted were deposits in order to hold the item for you. It turns out that my moms friend’s account had been hacked into and the post was completely fake. The posted items were never real or for sale and the money people deposited was stolen by the hackers. Many people had unfortunately placed deposits on some of the items, some losing thousands of dollars to the scam.
